For several years Finzer has produced a series of mellow ambient recordings, often paired with another artist on keyboards or guitar. Synesthesia is the fourth installment of her “naked flute” series recorded in The Tank, and while it is still 100% live and improvised, this one seems to draw more directly on Finzer’s classical roots: Mozart in the opening track; elsewhere it’s Debussy.
